Molly Deich graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in physical geography. Her areas of focus were geology, biogeography, and geomorphology. She has two teaching credentials: life science and music, and a master's degree in education administration from San José State University. Molly was a music teacher at New Brighton Middle School in Capitola for five years; now she is in her fifth year as a science teacher there. Molly also taught high-school biology in southern California. She has two sons, one of whom is a third-year physics major at Reed College, and the other is a high-school junior. Molly is an avid pianist, bike commuter, vegetable grower, nonfiction reader, and knitter.
