Cal Teach provides a series of internships for math, science and engineering undergraduates in local K-12 schools.

Interns will:

  • spend up to 5 hours per week in middle or high school science and math classes
  • enroll in a concurrent Cal Teach seminar course, a 2-credit seminar designed to support and enhance classroom placements
  • receive a $600 stipend after completion of the internship and seminar
  • work with one or more K-12 mentor teachers.

Internship participants must be planning to complete a B.A. or B.S. in math, science or engineering and be enrolled at UCSC or a regional community college.  Internships for students new to Cal Teach will be offered in the fall and winter quarters.  Prospective Cal Teach students entering UCSC in the fall should apply during fall quarter for winter quarter internships.
